Week 11 Alecto & Pumpkinhead

Final low poly of each character. I took each high poly character and brought it into Topogun to create the low poly models. Took them into Headus and unwrapped, brought it back to Topogun and baked out my maps from there. I rigged and painted weights for each character to pose them for the final. Lastly, put it into Unreal and rendered from there.

Alecto - Low poly update

So this is the first update for low poly Alecto. After some thought what the easiest way to create her low poly..I decided that I will add her cloth separate from her body so it will be easier to paint weights and rig her. That way if I'd like to pose the cloth more flowy, it will be much easier. I'm pretty much just creating the more simple geometry first and will work on the more difficult geo next.

Low Poly PH

Here's where my low poly stands at the moment. I took my high poly model, brought it into Topogun to create my low poly geometry and baked down a couple maps from there. I'm having a few issues with the color map in some areas so I'll have to figure that out. I haven't added his mouth tentacles yet because I will individually rig one piece so that will be next. First time using Headus to unwrap this guy.  It's my first time unwrapping a character but so far so good.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkk8GoQ7g6A I used this tutorial for helping me unwrap, took awhile and going back and forth to get used to the hot keys, but I'm getting the hang of it.

Alecto Update

So I followed by this tutorial on adding reds, yellows, and blues to the face. I think it definitely made a difference since my last render. Good tutorial and tips!

Alecto polypainted and rendered

http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/707-Creating-Long-Hair-Using-FiberMesh-in-ZBrush

Fibermesh tutorial for her hair and lashes!

Finished poly painting her; have little tweaks to finish up on but overall she's about done! She is my first human poly painted model and it was really fun to do. Very happy with how she looks!

Polypainting, lighting, posing, and rendering Pumpkinhead

http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/735-Sculpting-a-Digital-Maquette-in-ZBrush#play-16780

Used this tutorial for lighting and rendering in Zbrush.

Finished the polypaint for the character! Posing was a little difficult, but it's temporary until I decide to do a low poly model, rig, and properly pose him. I had to fix some parts with stretching of the model since I just used the transpose tool so some areas I had to fix.Very happy with the results though!

PH - Update

Small updates for PH. Smoothed out many areas to achieve a more finished look. I'm trying to smartly use the clay tube brush to give textures to areas, such as his back. I've defined more back muscles this week.

http://www.digitaltutors.com/tutorial/735-Sculpting-a-Digital-Maquette-in-ZBrush#play-16758

I've been following his videos since his creature is similar in a sense to mine. This video was him redefining the back muscles using the clay tube brush. I also built a spine to show like Scarbini's; Not sure if I'll keep it but I thought it would be interesting to have his back have. I'd like to add smaller fine details which he includes in more of his videos.

Latest model for Alecto. I began to change some of her proportions and adding the toes (extremeties are still in the early stage). I've been doing a lot of the sculpting of her face to really get her to look more like her character. Next stage is to add the rest of her armor and finish off the rest of her model.

Pumpkinhead - Final Stages

This is the final steps to finishing up Pumpkinhead. I changed many of his proportions to get it closer to the render. One "major" change was his finger, it was a thumb originally, however in the render he doesn't have one. Minor changes will be needed to finish the final sculpt.

Alecto Update #1

This is Alecto from the God of War franchise. I've been neglecting her a tad, but I finally began a very, very basic sculpt of her body and face. A lot of the small details won't be seen with her clothes so I'm really looking at a simple, but well proportioned body with a pretty face. I'll be continuing on her face sculpt and of course adding toes.

Pumpkinhead Update #3

So for this update I have tried a different sculpting technique which makes it very easy to create texture. I repositioned his legs and his muscles as well. I've also made parts of his body part of the main model since it is attached to his skin rather than seperate subtools. I've taken away his nails and will be modeling his claws next.

Pumpkinhead: Update 2

So here's the most recent model for "Pumpkinhead". I took a lot into consideration of the paint over and enlarged his hands and feet. Also put in more details around his head and also changed the thickness of his body.

Works In Progress

So here's where my current model is at. It's based off of a render of Pumpkinhead. Still working at the legs and head still with adding more details.
